Fantastic weather and supportive parents and school staff made the event one of the best yet, as Kootenay Columbia School District 20 held its Elementary School Track Meet on Thursday, June 1, at Haley Park.
A total of nine schools and about 300 students participated. Athletes from Grades 4-7 competed in a variety of events, depending on age, including the 100 and 400 metre sprints, the high jump, long jump, shot put, javelin and relay races.
