Rossland golfer places third overall on West Kootenay Junior Golf Circuit

Xander Bankes of Rossland placed third in the final rankings of the Zone 1 West Kootenay Junior Golf Circuit.

A Rossland golfer placed third in the final rankings of the Zone 1 West Kootenay Junior Golf Circuit.

Following the final two events of the circuit, which took place over the weekend, Xander Bankes finished third overall. Ahead of him were Nic Jenner and Ely Overennay of Castlegar, who placed second and first respectively.

Overennay also placed first at both events over the weekend, the first at Balfour on Saturday and the second at Granite Pointe in Nelson on Sunday. He shot 70 at Balfour and 71 at Granite Pointe. Will Watt from Castlegar claimed second place at both events, shooting an 83 on Saturday and a 77 on Sunday. Jenner took third place on Saturday, shooting an 84.
