These days we hear about all sorts of threats to our health and safety so it’s easy to become complacent or simply tune out the latest, supposedly dire warning about some new risk that you hear in the news. Radon exposure, however, should not fall into this category.

Early morning lap swim at the Rossland Pool is now on Tuesday mornings from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. Cost is $2 for members and $5 for non members. Let’s assume that when everyone in B.C. gets to be finance minister for a day, a majority choose to throw a $3-billion chair through the office window to show how mad they are about the harmonized sales tax. The cleanup will take two years, but first there will be a provincial election to decide who holds the broom and dustpan. And the choices are becoming clear.

As another group of RSS students celebrates the end of high school, joy and optimism about the future abounds. As it should. These accomplished young people have lots to look forward to as they make the transition from adolescence to their adult lives.

The Redefining Beauty course with Amber Oosthuyzen is coming up soon on June 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Rossland Arena lounge. The course is for girls ages 12-18 years.
