What inspires you?

Inspiration. What is it for you? Is it checking out the latest magazine? Watching videos? Getting out with your friends? The weather?

Inspiration. What is it for you? Is it checking out the latest magazine? Watching videos? Getting out with your friends? The weather?

Whatever it is I encourage you to do more of it. I get inspired by others; which as I have mentioned previously is where BettyGoHard started.  Seeing someone try something for the first time or watching Jamie Anderson go big on the slopestyle course at the X games, it is all the same — others in action, pushing their limits and having fun.

Over the years of running lodges and living in ski towns I have found that the people that are part of the action sports community generally have really cool stories. It’s like finding out that your parents had a life before you; I get fooled into thinking we are all just ski bums and forget that everyone came from somewhere and many are on their way somewhere else.  Their stories entertain and inspire me, our world is full of adventures and living with people that seek these out keeps me inspired to keep adventuring and not really truly grow up.

The idea of running a regular Betty of the Month feature on the Bettygohard.ca website has been playing on my mind for many years.  After sitting down with a couple of very inspiring women during a recent cat skiing trip, the column was born.

I have always advocated that we are all Bettys. BettyGoHard is not about me, it is about all the ladies out there embracing who they are and being as awesome as they can be. Once I put the Betty of the month idea into motion I realized that there are enough inspirational Betty’s in our town alone to keep me going for a few years, let alone the ladies I meet along the way.  Everyone has an amazing story and is on an amazing journey.  I love hearing them and I will be sharing them with you.

Please stay tuned to our blog at www.bettygohard.ca for stories about other betties, the weekly being betty column, tips on nutrition, gear and more.  See you on the trails.
