March 13, 1985 - June 22, 2022
In loving memory ~
It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Jamie Scott, due to natural causes, on June 22, 2022. Jamie was born March 13, 1985 in the Trail Hospital and grew up in Rossland, BC where he spent his younger days skiing, mountain biking, playing hockey and being a typical Kootenay kid.
Jamie completed his schooling for Journeyman Electrician at Thompson Rivers University and received his certification in 2009. He had been working as an industrial electrician, primarily at camp jobs in Northern Alberta, for the last 13 years with Rossland remaining his home base during his days off. Jamie had a vast number of passions, which were always shared with friends. Most of these passions involved enjoying the outdoors with such pursuits as hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, playing golf, enjoying music festivals/concerts or cruising on his motor cycle. His love of sports also took him to many professional baseball, football and hockey games as well as participating in many sporting pools or fantasy leagues. His days off were always jam packed full of plans and trips with friends yet he was always able to carve out time for his family.
Family and friends were at the center of Jamie's life. His generous nature, kind heart and ability to ensure everyone was having a good time made him instant friends with everyone he met. There was never a dull moment when you were with Jamie and he will be deeply missed by everyone that knew him.
Jamie is survived by his parents Alan and Nancy Scott and sisters Kelsey and Jana (Joseph) and many extended family members in BC and Ontario including close friends, aunts, uncles, cousins and grandmother.
Please join us for a celebration of Jamie's life on August 13, 2022, from 3 to 8 pm, on the deck at Red Mountain Resort in Rossland.
He spent countless hours at the Rossland arena playing hockey during his younger years and as an adult playing in the annual father/son hockey game. He loved hanging out with buddies watching the 'Boxing Day Classic', senior Warriors or Smoke Eaters Games in Trail. He even picked up curling which soon became a staple winter activity. To carry on Jamie's love of hockey and curling in his beloved hometown, anyone wishing to make donations can do so in memory of Jamie Scott to the Rossland Arena Society by either of the following 2 ways:
