January 14, 2020
It is with heavy hearts that we announce David John Butler passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on January 14, 2020 following a life changing stroke.
Dave leaves behind his loving wife of 60 years, Doreen, son Greg (Tauna), daughter Tracey (Ken), grandchildren; Cydney, Connor (Paige), Kali (Steven) and Hayden and brother Chris (Ann) in Melbourne, Australia.
David lived life to the fullest. He will be remembered for his immense love of a good bike ride, an exceptional powder day or a sunny cruise in one of his restored Triumphs. Dave didn't see this mountain climb ahead, none of us did, and we hope that the summit brought him peace, the knowledge of a life well spent and a release into his next journey. He has been a part of many lives and the memories of those shared experiences will remain with us all.
The family would like to thank Dr. Scully and the nurses, physios, care aids, housekeeping and food services staff of the third floor at KBRH for their wonderful and compassionate care.
Dave's time on earth has ended, but his spirit and memories will remain in the hearts that he touched throughout his life. A Celebration of Dave's Life will be held in the summer for all his friends and family.
