December 29, 1932 - November 9, 2021
We have lost a good friend. Allen will be remembered as a kind, loving, giving, generous man who always had a smile for us. He was predeceased by the love of his life Tena, daughter Karen, Mother Dorothy Louise and Gramma Keating.
Allen served with the RCAF from 1951-1956, 3 years in Canada and 2 in Germany. Since 1956 Allen spent years in service with the Royal Canadian Legion supporting our Veterans who he held very dear to his heart. Allen held many Executive positions with the latest being the Charities Chair at our Local Branch 14 in Rossland. The Cadets, Jumpstart with Canadian Tire for youth sports and the RSS nutrition program, all held a special place in Allen's heart of late when making donations from the Charities Fund. Allen had a variety of careers. He drove Taxi, sold classic classic cars, snow mobiles, typewriters, vacuum cleaners as well as being as an instructor for St. Johns First Aid. The many work-related stories were always very entertaining.
Allen found faith late in life starting his studies to become a Jehovah's Witness in December of 2019. His dream of getting Baptized came to fruition this past spring. Allen was given the gift of a congregation of family, love and support by his side for every struggle he had to face and for that he was very thankful.
Thank you to all his Jehovah's Witness sisters and brothers that shared their love, prayers and time, a very special thank you to Susan and Larry, Wayne for the much loved gift of music and radio play that brought fond memories, Home Care nursing, Home Support, his Social Worker, Dr Scully, the KBRH 2nd floor, 3rd floor and Emergency medical staff, VETCAN and last but not least, Cathy our most amazing Pharmacist and friend.
Allen loved math and numbers. This equation sums things up perfectly: Life plus laughter times love minus hate equals happiness. Thank you for your gift of friendship Allen, memories of you will live forever in our hearts.
