UPDATE: B.C. man who swam naked with sharks arrested

Police have arrested a B.C. man who allegedly assaulted a victim before jumping naked into a shark tank at Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada in Toronto on Friday.

David Weaver, 37, of Nelson was caught on video swimming in the shark tank at the aquarium. He was arrested by Ontario Provincial Police near Thunder Bay, Ont., area and will be transported back to Toronto, according to a Toronto Police Service media relations officer.

Police also connected Weaver to an assault they say occurred earlier Friday evening on a 34-year-old man in the area of Dufferin Street and Saskatchewan Road.

Weaver will be charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm and one count of mischief that interfered with property.
