The Rossland Museum and Discovery Centre is having an open house Friday, June 9 to show the public the museum’s current exhibit spaces and learn about upcoming exhibit changes as it prepares for Phase Two of our Renewal Project: the Mine Experience.

The Museum has a long history of sharing its mining history - “no trespassing” signs notwithstanding!

The Museum was built on its current site in 1967 and ran underground mine tours of the Black Bear Adit from 1967 to 2009.

In this photo from July 1965, President Jack McDonald and Harry Lefevre of the Rossland Centennial Committee examine the portal of the Black Bear Mine.

Learn more about how we’ll be expanding our exhibits at next Friday’s open house!

More info can be found at rosslandmuseum.ca/news/2023/pr-exhibit-redesigns.

Entry is by donation, and the Open House goes from 2 to 7 p.m. on Friday, June 9.
