Rossland Museum Charity Golf Tournament raises $3,000

This year’s Museum Charity Golf Tournament at Redstone Resort raised $3,000.

This year’s Museum Charity Golf Tournament at Redstone Resort raised $3,000.

The tournament took place on Saturday, with 32 golfers participating.

Though that was only roughly half of last year’s participation, organizers said they raised almost the same amount.

There were nearly $8,000 in prizes given away at the tournament, and Hall Printing sponsored the $10,000 hole-in-one prize, though not one ended up shooting a hole-in-one.

The winners of the tournament were Fiona Martin, Max Bankes, Libby Martin and Thompson Hickey, who scored 30.

Two teams tied for second with a score of 31.

The first team included Joanne Drystek, Tom Hall, Shane Preedy and Deb Det, and the second team included Chris Bowman, Michael Ramsey, Mike Heximer and Dave Elliot,

Thompson Hickey won “Guess the Tees” — there were 358 tees and he guessed 359.

Xander Bankes, the 2016 BC Provincial Junior Novice Champion, raised $105 of the amount for the museum at hole nine, where, for a small fee, he would make the team’s shot for them.
