The afternoon of Thursday, May 11, frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officers responded to the report of an abandoned off-road vehicle and nearby firearm located in a wooded area near a well-known bike path, in Warfield.
Officers attended the described location and recovered the vehicle, a shotgun, a submachine gun, ammunition, and other firearm-related items.
Officers discovered that the off-road vehicle was stolen from an area near Slocan.
The investigation continues with the Nelson Forensic Identification Section RCMP conducting a forensic examination of the items seized.
