Missing skiers located on Red Mountain

Trail RCMP is reporting that on January 2, shortly after 4 p.m. Red Mountain Resort reported two overdue skiers that had not reported in. The pair, both age 16, were part of a Boy Scout Troop from the state of Washington, USA that were visiting the resort for in-bound skiing.

Search and Rescue located the missing skiers in an area west of Red Mountain resort just after 10 a.m. today. The missing skiers were flown down the mountain by helicopter to the Red Mountain Resort area where they were checked over by paramedics just after 11 a.m. today.

The skiers were not injured as a result of the ordeal.

Earlier this week there had been an issue involving 10 overdue skiers, also from Washington State, at the resort. They were found to be safe and sound.
