The City of Rossland is asking residents to take a survey to see where and how many cannabis shops should operate in the community.

Respondents are asked how many cannabis stores they’d like to see in the community, the minimum distance they’d like to see between cannabis stores if more than one is allowed, and if cannabis stores should be permitted outside of the downtown core.

The survey also informs respondents of where cannabis stores are currently allowed to be developed around Columbia Avenue.

Rossland’s first cannabis store, Jimmy’s Cannabis Shop, opened in the fall of last year.

A second cannabis cannabis store, Mountain Pineapple, has also been proposed for the city.

Residents have until July 31 to complete the survey.
