The City of Rossland has temporarily reverted back to virtual council meetings as daily COVID-19 infections rise across B.C.
Mayor Kathy Moore said the move will help to mitigate the threat of COVID-19 in the city.
“With the uptick in provincial COVID-19 cases, we wanted take an abundance of precaution and protect the public and our staff,” said Moore.
“The technology is such that our Zoom meetings work really well and people can easily participate in them.”
People can view the council meetings by clicking on a link at the top of the city’s online agenda packages. Recordings of the meetings are available online within 24 hours after they’re held.
Masks are also mandatory now inside all city facilities.
The city isn’t sure when in-person council meetings could resume.
The City of Castlegar has also been holding its council meetings virtually during the pandemic.
