Words cannot express how truly thankful our team is to everyone who helped and who donated to our amazing group, “Adopt A Senior Trail and Area.”

With the help of the Trail Times, Bounce Radio and social media, our group has really grown!

This year we received donations from the following businesses: Evergreen Physiotherapy, Teck, CMAW Local 2300, Kootenay Made Co., Shoppers Drug Mart, Waneta Plaza, No Frills, Bay Avenue Dental and Safeway.

We also received private donations from some pretty amazing humans in the community and of course, those who adopted and shopped for a senior of their choice.

All these wonderful people made it possible to increase our donations and top off gift bags.

We were also able to purchase an item that each facility needed, as well as contribute gift cards for future use.

In total, 93 seniors received personalized Christmas gifts and 10 Christmas Day meals were purchased through the Trail Legion. Seniors at Columbia View Lodge, Poplar Ridge, Chateau Manor, and other local seniors were the recipients of these amazing gifts.

Unfortunately, the seniors at Rose Wood Village did not participate as management “opted” them out this year.

The outpouring of help from the community was indescribable, to say the least.

We would like to thank Shelley Robinson and staff at Warehouse One for taking on the responsibility of being a drop-off location.

We also want to thank our volunteers for helping us on so many levels.

Our group will continue to donate throughout the year, as we like to celebrate all the holidays with our seniors.

If you are interested in donating or know a senior who would love to participate in receiving a gift of love, please look us up on Facebook “Adopt A Senior Trail and Area” or email Jen at jenwill26@yahoo.ca.

Again, thank you so much Trail and area citizens for your big hearts!

Jen Williams, Tara Scott and volunteers
