Trail’s annual Silver City Days, held from Wednesday, May 7 through Sunday, May 11, concluded successfully with only a few minor disturbances, according to local RCMP.
Throughout the five-day event, officers responded to several calls for service, most of which police considered minor.
Reports included groups of youth causing disturbances inside the fairgrounds, a consensual fight between two men where alcohol was suspected to be involved, and a man allegedly consuming drugs near children.
Police said the man complied when directed to leave the area.
Additional calls involved an intoxicated youth who was turned over to a parent, a noise complaint regarding late-night yelling in the downtown area, and a suspicious person checking vehicle door handles.
One intoxicated man required medical assistance, but police said no major issues or safety concerns were reported.
“Overall, Silver City Days went well and everyone seems to be enjoying themselves with only a few minor incidents to interrupt the festivities,” said Sgt. Mike Wicentowich.
Trail RCMP said they were encouraged by the overall conduct of attendees and the positive spirit of the community celebration.
