Trail Retirees Curling almost called the authorities, with the amount of stealing going on at the Trail Curling Centre.
Team Murray Walsh won the toss and took one in the first end against team Pat Burke. Murray may look to lose the coin toss as team Burke shut them out over the next five ends.
The Burke front end put up great guards, and buried come-arounds. Burke was left guarding steals to make the final 9-1 after six ends.
Team Forrest Drinnan called Team Cal McKerracher “thieves” as the McKerracher stole points in every end of a six-end game. The McKerracher front end set up every end and left Cal playing guards.
Team Drinnan had few opportunities and no luck at all when it came to scoring.
Team Dave Davidow, skipped by Jack Hamann made a series of nice shots in the first end to steal one against team Tom Hall. Up by one and with hammer in the fourth, team Hall’s front end swept a light weight takeout on a buried shot stone to score three. Riding a four point lead, the teams swapped singles over the next four ends. Make the final 8-4.
Team Serge Pasquali scored two in the first and stole one in the second. Team Alvin Caron scored two in the third and stole two in the fourth. It went on following the same pattern for eight ends, one team taking points then stealing.
It was such a friendly, giving game, the only conceivable out come was an 8-8 tie.
