Starting this month, visitors to the Trail Riverfront Centre will be greeted by a familiar face.
Zoe Davies has returned for a second year as the City of Trail’s Visitor Services summer student, bringing experience and a clear appreciation for the community.
Last summer, Davies launched a digital kiosk packed with ideas for places to visit and experiences to enjoy in Trail.
This season, she’s given the tool a fresh update.
Located along the staircase, the Visitor Centre’s touchscreen offers maps, local attractions, dining options, as well as sightseeing tips for tourists and locals curious to explore their own backyard.
Davies also keeps the Gift Shop looking sharp and stocked with everything from Trail-branded apparel and vintage Trail Smoke Eaters merchandise, to local history publications and eye-catching souvenirs.
Upstairs in the museum and archives, Ezri Sneddon is stepping into her first season as museum assistant.
Working alongside collections coordinator Addison Oberg, Sneddon is helping with the important task of reconciling donation and database records with the collection.
This means a full-scale collections inventory. The process includes a detailed review of documentation to help staff make informed decisions about how each item fits the collections policy and priorities.
A final overview will be presented to the Trail Historical Society, which owns the museum and archival collections.
The board receives monthly staff recommendations, and the goal of this project is to encourage more engagement with the collection and promote responsible stewardship.
With big projects underway and new faces walking through the doors every day, the summer students at the Trail Riverfront Centre are embracing the season with energy, curiosity, and care.
