RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man who allegedly committed an indecent act on the Columbia River Trail near Trail on Sunday, May 11.
According to police, the incident occurred around kilometre seven of the 15-km trail, a popular hiking and biking route that runs along the east side of the Columbia River between Sunningdale and Ootischenia.
A witness reported seeing a man walking a Husky dog while allegedly touching himself.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, approximately five-foot-eight, with blond dreadlocks.
Due to a two-hour delay in reporting the incident, responding officers were unable to locate the individual.
Anyone with information about the man’s identity or whereabouts is asked to contact the Trail RCMP at 250-364-2566.
Police strongly advise against approaching the individual and recommend reporting any sightings immediately.
The Columbia River Trail, known for its scenic views, is part of the Trans Canada Trail network.
The route is popular with hikers, cyclists, and dog walkers.
Authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant to ensure the safety of all trail users.
