If you’re looking for some family fun this Family Day long weekend, then look no further than the Trail Memorial Centre.
On Saturday, Feb. 15, families will be in for a treat as the Family Action Network (FAN), in partnership with Teck Trail and Columbia Basin Trust, hosts a community-wide celebration in the Memorial Centre gym from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This year’s theme, “Together in Unity,” highlights the diversity and strength of families in local communities.
The event promises a joy-filled day of interactive games, live performances, mini-workshops, youth-inspired art, delicious treats, and more.
“This event is all about bringing families together and recognizing the uniqueness and strength of each one,” said Sarah Magee, FAN coordinator.
“We want to create a welcoming space where everyone feels included and appreciated.”
Whether you’re looking to enjoy hands-on activities, explore local talent, or simply spend quality time with loved ones, this event has something for everyone.
• Live performances from local entertainers;
• Interactive games for kids and families;
• Mini-workshops to learn and explore new skills;
• Tasty treats;
• A youth art showcase highlighting creativity from our young artists;
• A silent auction featuring unique local items.
Have a young artist or performer at home?
This is their chance to shine on the main stage.
FAN welcomes young talents to showcase their creativity and passion during the event.
“Join us as we celebrate families in all their diversity,” Magee added. “Because every family is unique, and every family matters.”
Admission is free and open to all.
