Early voting in British Columbia’s 43rd Provincial General Election begins this week.
Residents of Trail are now part of the newly-created Kootenay Monashee riding, which also includes Rossland, Fruitvale, the Castlegar area, and extends north to Slocan, Fauquier, and Cherryville.
Trail voters can participate in advance voting at the Royal Canadian Legion (2141 Columbia Ave.) from Oct. 10 to Oct. 13, between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.
Final voting in Trail will take place at the Trail Memorial Centre on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Other advance voting options include: Rossland Summit School on Oct. 12 and Oct. 13, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and the Fruitvale Memorial Centre on Oct. 15 and Oct. 16, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
On Election Day, final voting will be held at several locations from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., including: Rossland Summit School, Warfield Community Hall, Montrose Community Hall, and the Fruitvale Memorial Centre.
Voters also have the option to request a vote-by-mail package through the Elections BC website (votebymail.elections.bc.ca), by phone at 1-800-661-8683, or by visiting any district electoral office.
