Monday, Nov. 12 at the Miners’ Hall: West Kootenay Friends of Refugees Film night Tickets $10 at Out of the Cellar.

God Grew Tired of Us (89:00) - Three of the 'Lost Boys of Sudan' who fled war in Sudan recount their experiences as they re-settle in the United States.

Wednesday, Nov. 14 at the Flying Steamshovel Pub: Showcase Films, 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Free entry.

Loyalty (45:38) Telemark Skier - Loyalty explores the revolutionary youth telemark movement while also introducing some of the most profound telemark skiing on the planet. The flick blends appearances from TSM Crew, a first-of-its-kind athlete/content creation team including the likes of JT Robinson and Weston D, along with performances by innovative newcomers like Kate Hourihan, Tony Gill and Dylan Garner.

Eyes in the Forest: The Portraiture of Jim Lawrence  (12:38)  Small Town Films Inc. - Follow experimental filmmaker Miriam Needoba in this rare view of British Columbia’s remote Lardeau Valley as seen through the eyes of wildlife photographer Jim Lawrence.

WE: A Collection of Individuals – Premiere (47:00) Red Bull Media House and Poor Boyz Productions: The story of skiing can’t be told alone by any one person.  Without our friends, the adventures we take, and the memories made along the way, we are nothing.

Saturday, Nov. 17 at the Flying Steamshovel Pub: Lunch in the Backcountry, films begin at 1 p.m. Free entry.

Breaking Trail (64:27) Powderwhore Films - Warning! There are no shots of helicopters filming other helicopters or hankie-clad 16-year-olds hepped up on energy drinks spinning to rap music. You will find a mixed bag of highly talented and dedicated individuals who enjoy hiking out into the unknown in search of turns and adventure.

The Freedom Chair (15:00) Switchback Entertainment Inc. - Josh Dueck was an aspiring skier and coach until a ski accident in 2004 changed his life for good.  After coming to the realization that he would never walk again, Josh made a conscious decision to make the best of a terrible situation.  Within one year he was back on snow doing what he loved, and shortly after, his determination took him to the top of the podium in the sport of sit-skiing.

Hurt so Good (35:28) Legs of Steel and Red Bull Media House - Skiing is a rollercoaster of emotions.  Nothing is comparable to the dream-like feeling of being in the mountains.  And nothing charges your soul like the buzz that comes from stomping a new trick or blazing your own line through deep snow.

Last Light (6:26) Sweetgrass Productions - There is an undeniable magic in alpenglow-- the final seconds of a day’s light that give mountains impossible texture and life before falling into shadow.  In the endless spring hours of Haines, Alaska, light is as bountiful as snow.

Deep Runs the Canyon (22:34) Dainty Deathy Productions - The 3rd instalment from West Kootenay based Endangered Creeks Expedition (ECE) team takes on new depths into the region’s most scenic canyons.  Motivated by current proposals for hydro-electric development, ECE kayakers began creatively filming what they’ve come to know and see while venturing into these rare Kootenay environs; sometimes for the first time.

Don’t miss out on the speaker, workshop, Reel Youth Film Festival, and musical acts that will be happening throughout the festival.
