From Kootenay performers to out-of-town headliners, Music in the Park promises to bring unforgettable nights to Gyro Park this June, July and August.

“As always, it is going to be a super fun time for the whole family and visitors alike with something for everybody as far as musical genres,” Nadine Tremblay, executive director, Trail and District Arts Council, shares.

“I don’t think there is anything better in summertime than sitting by the river in a beautiful evening park setting enjoying live music with your friends, family and community.”

As is tradition, the Trail Maple Leaf Band and Trail Pipe Band with highland dancers will open the season in the East Trail park Thursday, June 27, from 6:15 p.m. to 8 p.m.

In case of rain — or smoke — performances will move indoors to The Bailey Theatre, so even the popular night markets will likely not be cancelled.

Plus, there’s a few new features this season.

“Trail arts council received a ReDi grant, from Columbia Basin Trust, to build a shade and backdrop structure for the stage, and provide a shuttle bus service on night market nights to and from the park to downtown Trail,” Tremblay notes.

All this with a price that is right; $3 per person is a suggested donation or park goers can buy a season pass for $30.

And don’t forget a lawn chair.

As part of Music in the Park 2024, Tremblay says the council is once again collaborating with Trail’s Incredible Farmers Market for two special night markets, 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., July 18 and Aug. 15.

“The night markets are awesome events that bring the community together with music, food, a beer garden and a farmers’ market,” Tremblay adds.

“So much fun in Gyro Park.”
