Rossland’s very own John Lee’s Hooker is headed out on the road, and they’re kicking off the tour at home on Friday.

Austin Delaye (drums), Brad Mackay (guitar) and Louis Girardeau (bass) will play the Fraternal Order of Eagles (2056 Columbia Ave.) on Friday. Doors open at 9 p.m., show starts at 10 p.m. and tickets are $10.

Then the guys hit the highway on May 18, heading to Calgary, Regina, Saskatoon, Golden, Revelstoke and Kelowna.

“[We’re] just trying to get more exposure and get our name out there more,” said Delaye, when asked about the occasion for the tour.

“Get the hell out of Rossland and go play some music,” added Mackay.

The band has toured before, but Saskatchewan will be the furthest they’ve ever gone.

“It’s going to be exciting to play to people who have never heard of us before,” said Delaye.

The tour ends back in Rossland, where John Lee’s Hooker will open for the Pistolwhips on May 30 at the Flying Steamshovel.

Doors open at 9 p.m. and tickets are $10.

John Lee’s Hooker has been a band for the past six years and helped build the area’s music scene. So far the trio has two EPs one digital only and the other also available on CD and is currently working on its first full-length album.

Fans can expect to hear music from the new album and will have the chance to purchase T-shirts.
