White Star Lady: The Story of Violet Jessop

Rossland’s Iron Mountain Theatre is on its second season.

The theatre group will be having a fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 1 to raise money for their second season of performances.

Jane Gaudet, from Iron Mountain Theatre, said the event will feature Rossland’s arts and culture and a performance of White Star Lady: The Story of Violet Jessop.

The musical, performed by Gaudet, is the true story of Violet Jessop, an employee of the White Star Line who survived the sinking of both the Titanic and the Britannic.

Following the play will be a concert by Rossland’s own The Sons, a three-piece rock/bluegrass ensemble.

The evening will also include special performances by the casts of Company Jump and Ski Bum: The Musical.

In addition to this, IMT is pleased to have Artist: Stephanie Gauvin on hand who will paint an original piece of art at the event which will be raffled off at the end of the evening.

Help IMT embark on their second successful season. All three of IMT’s productions will be on tour this fall/winter throughout all of B.C., plus we are currently in the process of creating our new piece Harms Way: The Untold Story of the Mennonite Mafia.

The fundraiser will assist with production and touring costs.

Tickets for the event are $20 and can be purchased at Rossland Hardware or by calling 250-231-0851.

Doors open at 7 p.m. and the performance of White Star Lady will begin at 7:30 p.m.

This event is sponsored by The Rossland Council for Arts and Culture.
