The Rossland Council for Arts and Culture is pleased to announce a performance by the Vancouver TheatreSports League (VTSL), taking place at the Miners Hall on Friday, Feb. 9.

Come beat the winter blues and share some laughs with friends.

TheatreSports is high-action, short-form improv full of comic vengeance. Voted Vancouver’s No. 1 Improv Comedy Company by the 2017 Best of Vancouver Awards, TheatreSports League is a well-respected, international leader in this art form. RCAC is excited to bring more laughs, surprises and fun to Rossland this winter with “Instant Improv” by the Vancouver TheatreSports team.

Relying on razor-sharp wit and lightning-fast reflexes, two teams of performers will be pitted against each other in competitive improv matches. Using audience suggestions to fuel scenes, teams must create totally improvised situations on the spot.

As an added bonus, the VTSL team will be putting on a Youth Improv Workshop before the show at 1 p.m. Friday afternoon. This falls on a P.D. Day, so why not spend some time laughing and sharpening your improv skills with professional improv comedians?

The cost is $10 to attend and includes free entrance into the evening performance. This workshop is open to anyone under the age of 30.

The evening performance also features an innovative and entertaining warm-up act by local theatre troupe Mythopoeic Productions, headed by Alisha VanWieren. She will examine the relationship that young people have with their technological devices and each other. Tickets for the workshop and/or the performance are available at “Out of the Cellar” and online at rosslandartscouncil.com

Doors open at 7 and the show starts at 7:30 p.m. See you there.
