IMT presents ‘Ski Bum: The Musical’ next week

Rossland’s own Iron Mountain Theatre (IMT) will premiere their long-anticipated Ski Bum: The Musical at the RSS auditorium on Jan. 27 at 7 p.m. with a second show on Jan. 29 at 8 p.m.

Rossland’s own Iron Mountain Theatre (IMT) will premiere their long-anticipated Ski Bum: The Musical at the RSS auditorium on Jan. 27 at 7 p.m. with a second show on Jan. 29 at 8 p.m.

IMT, who brought us A Tribute to Mining, White Star Lady, and Company Jump, hopes their latest original production, a “homage to the dirtbags, debutants, lurkers and posers constantly in search of bottomless pow,” will attract not only ski bums, but “snow bums, skinny bums, large bums” and, it seems, just about any kind of bum at all.

“The innuendo alone is enough to tickle even the most chafed of funny-bones,” the company writes. The all-original musical comedy dreamed up by Tyler Austin Bradley and co-written with Mark Pollard, amplifies mountain culture in song and dance, with music by Nadine Tremblay.

After their Rossland debut, the company will take their show on the road, hitting Revelstoke, Grand Forks, Trail, and Nelson on weekends in February and March, with other shows to be announced.

Tickets are $15, available at Pro Hardware for the Jan. 27 performance and at RossVegas for Jan. 29.
