Rossland’s learners celebrated the end of the school year and graduation on Thursday night.
The Seven Summits Centre for Learning held its Celebration and Graduation Ceremony at Red Mountain Resort, graduating six learners and celebrating the accomplishments of all the youth at the centre.
The evening began with dinner, followed by a ceremony where learners were awarded and acknowledged not only for their academic achievement and improvement, but for their involvement in the community.
Councillor Andrew Zwicker was the guest speaker, addressing the graduates and all those assembled. He encouraged them to do more good instead of less bad, focusing his talk on environmentalism and entrepreneurship.
Each graduate was presented at the ceremony, with a mentor from the centre reading out a letter from the graduates family and sharing their own memories of the graduate’s time at Seven Summits.
