The Rossland Arena Society (RAS) announced it is closing the fundraising bottle bin behind Rossland Summit School for the summer.
In addition to the RAS, various organizations have benefitted from the bottle drop including in the past month the Gold Fever Follies, Rossland Arts Centre Society, and West Kootenay Timberwolves.
“The Rossland Arena Society will be closing the bottle drop behind Rossland Summit School, effective July 5, for the summer,” said RAS president Ona Stanton in a release. “This has been an incredible fundraiser for the arena, and other local groups, and we are so grateful for the communities support.”
Members of the community drop off their refundable bottles, plastics, and cans at the RSS bottle bin, and volunteers then process and deliver them to the local depot.
“A very small group of hard working volunteers has made this fundraiser possible and we are giving them a break to enjoy their summer.”
The bottle drop closed on July 4 and will reopen in September. For more info contact the RAS at rosslandarena@gmail.com.
