So you’re in Rossland and it’s Canada Day. You’ve done the traditional morning hike up Mount Roberts. What’s up for the rest of the day?

Well, there’s tons of fun at the Rossland Museum and Discovery Centre grounds.

From 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., there are family-friendly activities including a bubble station, face painting, gold panning with Dan Wehrle, and a fish pond.

Transport yourself to another time period in the Rossland Light Opera Players selfie station. Let the kids run free in the One Tree Adventure Outdoor Playscape, or let them marvel at the City of Rossland’s Touch-A-Trucks in the upper level.

DJ Jazzy Jo will be giving you all something to groove to while The Nadi Tree instructs some kids’ yoga.

WildSafe BC Trail/Rossland and the city’s water smart ambassador will both offer information and an activity.

At 2:30 p.m., come together to sing O Canada with the Gold Fever Follies with remarks by Mayor Kathy Moore before tucking into Sweet Dreams Cakery cupcakes and Canada Day cake.

There will be food available for purchase throughout the afternoon from wonderful local vendors and a Youth Action Network refreshment tent.

Return in the evening to a stage and 19-plus adult bevvie tent by the Flying Steamshovel, serving Rossland Beer Company beer as well as ciders and wine and see the three-band line up: Yes We The Mystic, Under the Rocks, and Heartwood.

Children get to enjoy the Remax All Pro s’mores station and a new movie release, Secret Life of Pets 2 in the Cominco Movie Theatre.

At the end of the night, anticipate a great display of fireworks.
