Greater Trail recipients gather with Le Roi foundation grant-givers

The Le Roi Community Foundation is pleased to announce the recipients of its 2023 granting cycle.

Over $40,000 was distributed for various projects from Rossland to Trail and the Beaver Valley.

Successful applicants celebrating are: BC SPCA West Kootenay; Beaver Valley Food Bank; Camp Koolaree; Communities in Faith Food Bank; Family Action Network; KBRH Foundation Music Program; Kootenay Columbia Education Heritage; Kootenay Robusters; Rossland Scouts; St. Andrews Rossland Church; Rossland museum; Trail Pipe Band; Trail Gymnastics Club; and Wildsight.

The Le Roi foundation also collaborated with the Community Services Recovery Fund to distribute over $200,000 to a handful of organizations: the VISAC Gallery in downtown Trail; Trail Elderly Citizens Housing Society (Jubilee Place); Communities in Faith; Family Action Network of the Lower Columbia; Rossland museum; and the KBRH Health Foundation.

“We appreciate the donations that allow us to support the community,” the foundation says.

Donations can be mailed to PO Box 3, Trail, V1R 4L3; or received online to the Umbrella Fund or a legacy fund at leroifoundation.com.

The foundation’s next application process will open May 1 and run until June 30.

Le Roi Community Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to the betterment of life in Rossland, Warfield, Trail, Montrose, Fruitvale and Areas A and B, through an extensive network of donors and cooperations.

The foundation supports local initiatives involving arts and culture, sports and recreation, health and welfare, education, and the environment.

The Le Roi Community Foundation advises that it will be taking part in delivering the Community Prosperity Fund, which is a $25-million investment from the Government of B.C. focusing on poverty reduction and social inclusion.

The application intake will begin in March.
