The Rossland Council for Arts and Culture (RCAC) will be presenting “Cultural Landscapes,” a visual art exhibition taking place at the Miners Hall between Oct. 13 and 15, 2017.

This contest forms part of the Canada 150 celebrations in Rossland. It is open to artists currently residing in the West Kootenay region. There will be a “People’s Choice” award of $150 for the piece that receives the most audience votes.

The call for submission is for all original visual art pieces. All mediums are welcome: paintings, sculpture, fibre art, and more. Each artist may submit up to two pieces of work. Maximum size for 2D work is 20in x 20in. Maximum size of 3D work base: 20in x 20in. All work accepted into exhibition must remain in exhibition throughout the entire showing of Oct. 13 to Oct. 15.

Artwork may be for sale, but it is not required. All sales will take place directly between the artist and the buyer. RCAC takes no commission from work sold in this exhibit and delivery of work to the buyer is the responsibility of the artist.

All submitting artists will also receive a complementary membership to the RCAC, so you’ll be the first to know about upcoming grant opportunities for artists and cultural events going on in our community.

Deadline for entry is September 15th, 2017.

Submission information available at rosslandartscouncil.com (under upcoming events), or by emailing Sam at rosslandarts@gmail.com.
