A local contractor has taken the initiative to create more commercial spaces in Rossland.

Dan Eheler, the owner of Seven Summits Contracting, is currently constructing a four-bay building on the Old Rossland Cascade Highway to fill a need he sees in the community.

“Four commercial units for businesses like myself, so that we have a place to work in the dry or store materials or stay out of the snow,” he explains.

So far three of the bays have been claimed by renters, but the largest bay is still available. Eheler had originally planned to occupy one of the bays himself, but now might not.

“If the demand’s too high and I don’t get a spot, I’ll get a spot next year,” he says.

Eheler has a plan to fit up to three more buildings on the lot.

“We’ve had requests for boat storage and RV storage,” he says. “We’re just focusing on the first building currently, but that’s something Rossland needs as well as mini storage or boat storage.”

The four-bay building is expected to be completed by November.

The larger bays have 14-foot-by-14-foot doors that can accommodate a semi-trailer truck and the smaller units have 12-foot-by-14-foot doors.

Anyone interested in renting the fourth bay or looking for something different that could be part of a future build can contact Eheler at 250-512-9353.
