The deadline is February 28, 2014 for the Black Press Scholarship, which will grant $5,000 to 37 recipients for the University of Victoria’s BCom program and its Peter B. Gustavson School of Business.

Scholarships are available to high school, transferring students and continuing students entering UVic’s Gustavson School, and one scholarship will be awarded to a student applicant from each of these school district regions.

Applicants must have completed an application to Vic’s BCom program or be a returning student to the Gustavson school.

“As a result of this prestigious scholarship, I am honoured to have the opportunity to connect and be friends with other caring, like-minded individuals, striving to be the future leaders in business,” wrote LY (Catherine) Wong, a 2013 recipient of the scholarship, in a statement published on the Gustavson School’s website.

For more information or to apply, click here. Recipients will be notified by May 30 via email.

Recipients will receive two disbursements of the scholarship into their tuition account, in September and in January.

Again, the deadline for the Black Press Scholarship is Feb. 28.

All applications to UVic’s BCom program can be done online, and all required components must be mailed to:
