The final bidding day opened with at $5,250, with a flurry of activity in the final minutes and bidding increments of $250.

The website does not identify the bidders in any way, but there was a total of 66 bids.

The car has no engine, transmission or registration, and had been used as signage for Pick-a-Part auto wreckers for decades.
