Registration is now open for Trail Little League and Trail Youth Baseball.

The baseball leagues are also looking for umpires this season and are offering clinics for new and returning umpires in April.

Parents of little league baseball players ages 5-12 and youth ball players ages 13-18 can register them online at www.traillittleleague.ca and can access more information on the upcoming season.

Early bird registration rates apply for Little League until March 31.

The baseball season runs based on the hard work of volunteers, and this year, little league is implementing a $50 volunteer reimbursement if you are head coach, assistant coach or a parent covering three volunteer shifts between wake the fields and the concession.

Trail Youth Baseball’s wake the field is for all players and is scheduled for Tuesday, April 2 from 5 to 6 p.m. at Butler Park.

The regional All Star team for Grade 10-12 players will be based in Trail, and will be playing in BC Minor Baseball’s College Prep League.

Tryouts for the team are on Wednesday April 3 and Thursday April 4 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at Butler Park in Trail.

College Prep coaches this year will be Jim Maniago, Jordan Konken, and DJ Ashman. If you’re interested in trying out for the College Prep team (or if you have questions), email lmlw@hotmail.com.

The B.C. umpire training clinics will be held at the Montrose Hall on April 9 and 10 starting at 6 p.m. This is a great part time job opportunity and chance to be involved with the great game of baseball.

Register online at www.bcbua.ca. For more information, contact Bill McMillan by email at bipamac@telus.net.

If you haven’t already, join Trail Little League’s facebook community group to keep up with current events and announcements.
