West Kootenay roller derby playoffs to begin July 23
Nelson's intra-city rivals, the Lumber Jackies and the Killjoys, will battle it out in the first game of the West Kootenay Women's Roller Derby playoffs slated for July 23 at the Castlegar Community Complex.
The two Nelson teams ended the regular season in fourth and fifth place. On Aug. 19, the second and third place teams will struggle for a spot in the championship in September, both games at the Rossland Arena.
"Sponsors have been donating up a storm," the league reported, and "more prizes are coming in every day."
Keep your ticket stub to win from a list of prizes that includes everything from an Alpha Bootcamp punch pass, to Sunday brunch and The Hume, to OPTM Therapy with "biomechanical gait analysis."
As usual, doors open at 6 p.m. and the whistle blows at 7. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door and $2 for kids 10-years-old or under.
Tickets available online at www.kootenayrollerderby.com or at RossVegas in Rossland.
