Eric Lawson has worked in community media for 30 years as a reporter, editor, sales manager, general manager and publisher. He has worked and lived across Canada; prior to joining Black Press he was publisher of the Brandon Sun in Brandon, Manitoba. Lawson has been involved in community organizations throughout his career, including Rotary, the YMCA, Chambers of Commerce, and support for animal shelters. He has also been active in industry associations such as the Flyer Distribution Standards Association and Newspapers Canada. eric.lawson@blackpress.ca

John is a veteran of 20-plus years in journalism. He worked with many community newspapers in Alberta, Manitoba and Ontario. He was also the digital news editor with the Winnipeg Free Press and the Edmonton Journal. Jeff Sawyer is a native Kootenay kid from Nelson, British Columbia. He is inspired by nature, open spaces, unhurried existences, and uncovering stories that sometimes exist just beyond the human eye. Jeff feels fortunate to come from a place that still represents such beauty and spends most of his free time outdoors biking, skiing, or hiking. Jeff has a diploma in Publishing Techniques and Technologies from Langara College in Vancouver BC, and has worked for several creative agencies and design shops over the years on the coast, before settling back in the Kootenays and working with Black Press as their advertising consultant. sales@castlegarnews.com

Chelsea has a master’s degree in journalism from UBC and a background in magazine publishing. She started as a reporter for Rossland News and Castlegar News in July 2015, and enjoys hiking the Rossland trails and practicing her photography skills. After studying Graphic Design/Illustration and Marketing at Red River College Sandy started her career in Prince Albert, Sask. She moved out to the Kootenays where she continues her passion for creating really cool print and web designs.
