Castlegar RCMP are asking for the public's assistance in locating a 54-year-old woman who left her home in Pass Creek Tuesday afternoon and has not returned. Police have learned that Darilee Nolie was seen at approximately 3 p.m. Tuesday accepting a ride to the Crescent Valley bridge. She was believed to be hitchhiking towards Slocan Park.

Nolie is described as aboriginal, 5'4" tall, weighing approximately 220 pounds. She is believed to be wearing a large burgundy jacket. According to RCMP Nolie has limited cognitive abilities and functions like a young child socially.

RCMP report that on Thursday, Jan. 26 at 1 a.m., Nolie was identified as having been in a Denny's restaurant in Kelowna. She departed before staff there realized she is a missing person.

Nolie was enquiring about how to get to Edmonton, Abbotsford, or Victoria. She does not have means to pay for transportation to any of these locations, and police are asking that anyone that may give her a ride or see her trying to obtain a ride call the nearest police department immediately.

If you see her, please contact the Castlegar police at 250-365-7721, or your nearest police station if you are out of the Castlegar area.
