A Trail group strongly opposed to the city’s plan to demolish a historic hand-built rock wall in West Trail has launched a petition to stop construction.

Members are also presenting to Trail council tonight and holding a petition-signing outside city hall from 5:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.

“I strongly urge anyone who hasn’t seen the rocks in this wall to go and really look and marvel at hand drilling, barring huge stones up by hand, and the blood sweat and tears of the men who built them,” says Eileen Truant Pedersen.

More to come.
