A pickup was engulfed in flames roadside on Hwy. 3 on the Paulson Pass on Wednesday (Oct. 18).

Kootenay Boundary Regional Fire and Rescue responded to a call at 4:43 p.m. and was at the scene of the burning truck, about 5 km east of Nancy Greene Lake, at 5:25 p.m.

Four firefighters attended the call from Rossland and four from Trail, and had it under control in about 20 minutes.

“The vehicle was fully involved by the time crews arrived,” said KBRFR captain Grant Tyson. “There were no injuries and the fire is not suspicious in nature.”

The cause of the fire is undetermined.
