Café Books West in Rossland, B.C. will host an earring making workshop on April 20, from 4 to 6 p.m., led by Jody Pomeroy.

Pomeroy has been making earrings intensively for a year.

"I learned how and a whole new world of creativity was opened to me," said Pomeroy, who now saves a lot of money she used to spend because she likes to have lots of earrings to choose from.

"It's easy," she said, "now I love making them. Anyone can."

Pomeroy moved to Castlegar from Australia three years ago with her husband, a Canadian traveler, and now she works for School District No. 8 and No. 20 as an education assistant going "here, there, and everywhere."

"We thought we'd live in Nelson, but we love Castlegar because it's so beautiful here and we go to Rossland just as much," she said. "We love the Kootenays, they're the best place in B.C."

The cost of $15 per person includes all the materials to make one pair of beaded earrings. Space is limited, so sign up early with Pomeroy at 365-4858.
