Rossland's newest art exhibition has great opening weekend
A new exhibit which features local artists opened this weekend at the Rouge Gallery. The Mount Carlyle Retreat Art Show was held Friday night at the Rouge Gallery.
Stephanie Gauvin, one of the artists featured in the show said it was a well attended show with a great atmosphere.
She said guests enthusiastically viewed the new paintings and were delighted to hear the artist’s stories of their trip. The painters made a journey into the Selkirk mountains last September.
The art show consists of 52 paintings depicting the landscape the painters were immersed in for five days; Golden larches, glaciers and rolling hills.
The opening night sold more than 10 pieces to supporting art patrons.
The Rouge Gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Wednesday to Sunday and the artwork from the Carlyle trip will be up until the end of December.
