NELSON — The first Kootenay Pride meeting of the 2018 season will be held on Monday, April 16 at 6:30 p.m. at Reo’s Movie Emporium, 601 Front Street.

Each year Pride continues to grow and adapt to what the community wants and needs to see and this year will be no different.

The Kootenay Pride events in Nelson are the last Pride events for the summer in the province, this and the fact that Kootenay Pride is one of the oldest Prides in the province makes our week-long celebrations super special. Nelson’s Pride has become a destination for the LGBTQ+ community and their allies from across the province.

We invite everyone to get involved and share the love.

This meeting is the starting point for what Pride will look like this year. We are asking for anyone who is interested in helping out to show up and share in some of the brainstorming. The planning meetings are almost as fun as the events.

The Kootenay Pride events will take place starting Monday, Aug. 27 – Monday, Sept. 3. The Pride Parade will be held on Sunday, Sept. 2.

Everyone is welcome.
